About the artist: Gaita is a musical style originating from MARACAIBO in the state of ZULIA, in western VENEZUELA. Although it is deeply regional, it is the quintessential holiday music and the most listened-to genre across the country from October through January 7. It is a lively and highly contagious rhythm thanks to its blend of percussion, strings, piano, and more. To discover more about this musical tradition, experience REPICAO, a group founded in Montréal twelve years ago.
