Apr 29, 2026
The 18th edition of the Interprofessional Meetings of the Book Industry will take place on April 29, 2026, at Théâtre Paradoxe in Montréal. Centered on the next generation, this day brings together booksellers, publishers, sales agents, distributors, librarians, and authors for a collective reflection on the future of books, their professions, and their institutions.
Thinking Continuity in a Changing World
In a context where attention spans, cultural practices, economic models, and technologies are rapidly evolving, how can we ensure the sustainability of the book sector? How can professional knowledge be passed on? How can we engage new audiences and renew readership? What practices must be reinvented to keep our professions and institutions alive?
This day will feature conferences grounded in current market realities, interprofessional workshops designed to move from reflection to action, as well as panel discussions on emerging initiatives and knowledge transfer. A gathering to collectively reflect on what needs to be strengthened, reinvented, or adapted to ensure the continuity of the book world.
